Months of hard toil have been poured into producing our first plastic sprue for Dystopian Wars and today is the day that Chris from the Studio finally gets to hold it in his hands!

A lot of very talented people have contributed to this project and looking at the results it has been time very well spent. We have learned an awful lot during this process and the whole team have worked tirelessly in order to make it happen. And so, without further gilding the lily, And with no more ado, I present the Russian Commonwealth Frontline ship sprue:

As you can probably see from the parts this sprue is designed to make two frigates and one cruiser, but that cruiser can be built in four different ways. This allows a great amount of flexibility for players to build different ships to fit their fleets and playstyle. Do you want a squadron of heavy cruisers? Or would you rather stick with the regular cruiser hull, allowing more points for the rest of your force. Alternatively, you can choose a more mobile unit and build a fast cruiser. The final option is the monitor, a more lightly armed but rugged vessel often used in litoral engagements and coastal defence. Monitors are often fielded in large squadrons to swarm the enemy or threaten objectives.

The sprue includes enough turrets to outfit any of your ships with a variety of heavy rocket batteries, rail guns or heavy gun batteries. It also features all six of the most common generator types meaning you can outfit your fleet with all manner of Dystopian Age super-science. The turrets and generators are designed to be modified to incorporate small magnets to allow for easy configuration of squadrons depending on the encounter or opponent.

Last, and by no means least, especially as these little beauties can rip through a Battleship if gathered in sufficient numbers, I present the Rurik class Frigate!

A pair of Rurik frigates are included on each sprue meaning that as you build your cruiser squadrons, there are wolf packs of lethal frigates ready to flank them.

The sprue also contains alternate shield designs for the prow making it easy for you to create easily distinguished multiple squadrons.

I am very excited to be able to give you all a sneak peek of our first in-house designed and manufactured multi-part plastic miniatures. This marks a huge milestone for Warcradle Studios and is the start of some very exciting times indeed. Work on finalising the Covenant of the Enlightened Frontline ship sprue is well in hand and I hope to bring you more images on this before the end of the year. We hope to be in a position to announce the pre-order date for the Hunt for the Prometheus two-player starter set then too. We want to release the game as much as you want to play it!

Dystopian Wars is coming back - Iā€™m off to start my Commonwealth Fleet!

Until next time,

Chris
